Fiqh classes

The Islamic religion comprises four doctrines. Hanafi is the first one, and its name is attributed to its founder, Imam Abū Ḥanīfa al-Nuʿmān. 

Born to a Muslim family in Kufa, Abu Hanifa had traveled to Hejaz in his youth, where he studied in Mecca and Medina.




Hanafi is one of the most widely accepted doctrines, and it is the oldest one. The Hanafi doctrine consists of the opinions of the Imam and his trustworthy fellows and students.


Learning and understanding the doctrine of Imam Abu Hanifa has become easy, especially these days, due to the availability of many books and online fiqh courses that explain his approach in a simple, easy and accessible way to everyone.


The sources from which Abu Hanifa has derived shariah are:

  • The Holy Qur'an.

  • Hadith (you can check hadith course online)

  • Ijmaa: Opinions agreed upon within the Muslim community by famous scholars

  • Qiyas: The analogical reasoning used to deduct juridical principles not mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah.

His most known students were Imām Yaqub ibn Ibrahim al-Ansari, better known as Abu Yusuf, Imam Muḥammad ibnu-l-Ḥasan ash-Shaybani, and Imam Muḥammad ibn Idris al-Shafii. Besides, he had many different students including:


  •  Abdullah ibn Al-Mubarak.

  •  Abu Nuāim Fadl Ibn Dukain.

  •  Malik ibn Meghwal.

  •  Dawood Taa’ee.

  • Mandil ibn Ali.

  • Qaasim ibn Ma’n.

  • Husayn bin Basheer Sulami.

  • Ali bin Zebyan.


Besides his achievements, Abu Hanifa is popularly well-known amongst Sunni Muslims as a person of high personal qualities, including humble spirit, devotion, and piousness of God.
